Blastocyst-Americans For Huckabee

On Monday, former Arkansas Governor and Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee endorsed a "Colorado Human Life Amendment" ballot initiative that defines personhood as beginning with the fertilization of the egg.

The ramifications for successful ratification of this initiative are dire. In fact, they hurt my head so much to consider that I'll save that for another time.

Adoption of this initiative for the November ballot will require a petition drive with roughly 76,000 signatures. The social conservatives in Colorado are well organized and I'll bet on them making their goal with some signatures to spare.

I recently finished reading Mark Penn's book Microtrends, and I don't recall seeing the blastocyst-American demographic anywhere in that book. Classical Music Dads? Check. Philo-Semites? Check. Blastocyst-Americans? Nope.
