Remember IL-03?

I'm guessing many of our readers visit several blogs on a daily basis or read through several blogs' RSS feeds on a daily basis. I count myself in that demographic and one of the stories I've been following for the last few months are the two big ticket (in blogosphere terms) challenges to Democratic House incumbents Dan Lipinski (IL-03) and Al Wynn (MD-4).

Cash Crunch?

News broke earlier today that the Clintons loaned $5 million of their own dollars to Senator Hillary Clinton's campaign in the run-up to Super Tuesday. On the heels of that announcement, the New York Times blog The Caucus reported that Senator Clinton was considering another loan to her campaign due to the cost of the Super Tuesday contests.

The Double Bubble

I've been reading bits here and there this afternoon and this evening about possible ballot issues in Los Angeles County. Apparently these issues are limited to Los Angeles County and are not a problem in the wider California primary.

Well, it's officially gone from a possible to a probable problem. At 4:34 Pacific time, L.A.'s City Attorney issued the following statement:

Obama Projected To Win Georgia

CNN has called Georgia for Barack Obama on the Democratic side but cannot project a winner on the Republican side as of 6:30pm CST.

Tonight's going to be like a Second Christmas for political junkies, folks!

A Belated Merry Christmas

Per the Dallas Morning News, the Texas School Land Board has rejected two private bids to purchase the Christmas Mountains, a mountain range adjacent to Big Bend National Park. The Board will now consider a bid by the National Park Service to add the Christmas Mountains to Big Bend National Park.

Ann Coulter Endorses Hillary Clinton Over John McCain

Apparently Ann Coulter feels that Hillary Clinton is more of a real conservative than John McCain. Make of that statement what you will, fellow Democrats!

Wow. And here I thought that Microsoft's nearly $50 billion dollar bid for Yahoo was going to be today's shock headline!

50 Versions Of Right And Wrong

From the Dallas Morning News' Trail Blazers Blog: it seems that the Texas Restoration Project, an organization tries to get conservative pastors more involved in politics, has been copied and transplanted to Florida.

The Eye Of The Storm

For our side, the Iowa and Nevada caucuses and the New Hampshire and Michigan primaries are behind us. For the Republicans, the Iowa and Nevada caucuses and the New Hampshire, Michigan and South Carolina primaries are behind them.

John Kerry Endorses Barack Obama

In the aftermath of the fur flying over Tom Brokaw's admonishment of Chris Matthews during the New Hampshire Primary coverage and the talking heads still wondering if Senator Clinton's choking up won the day for her all day yesterday, the surprising political news of the day has been Senator John Kerry's endorsement of Senator Barack Obama.*

All I Want For Christmas Is...

I'd thought about addressing the question of a political wish for Christmas in the "12 Days of Christmas" format, but that one seemed too easy.
