Justice Ginsburg Undergoes Cancer Surgery

US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is currently hospitalized after having gone through surgery for pancreatic cancer today, Politico reports.

Ginsburg will remain in the hospital for seven to 10 days. The tumor was found during a regular checkup; it was in its early stages, and Ginsburg had shown no symptoms beforehand. All those bode well for Ginsburg, as pancreatic cancer is one of the most deadly primarily because early detection is so rare, as by the time any symptoms appear the cancer is in a very advanced stage or has already metastasized. There is no indication this was the case for Justice Ginsburg.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her for a speedy recovery.
