Pollster.Com's Presidential Map: Friday, August 1, 2008

Riffing off J-Michael's item about the closeness of the Presidential race in Texas, the fine folks over at Pollster.com have a great new feature running that will be like catnip for Presidential election junkies.

Pollster.com now has a front page national map with the polling averages state-by-state for the 2008 Presidential race, 2008 Senate races and 2008 Governor's races. You can hover your mouse pointer over each state to get the latest weighted least squares regression/linear regression trend/simple average of polls for that state. You can also click on the state in question and be taken to Pollster's state page which has a weighted least squares/linear trend/simple average graph for the polls for that state and a compendium of the most recent polls conducted by date, size, population polled (registered voters, likely voters, etc.) and outcome.

Today's Pollster.com presidential map shows Obama with 284 EVs, McCain with 147 EVs and 107 EVs in the Toss Up category. More on these numbers here.
