Positive Democratic Momentum of an Extended Primary

The Democratic primary for the 2008 presidential election is bringing out record number of voters for the Democratic Party and placing the spotlight on states usually not a determining factor for the presidential bid.

The increased turnout has identified numerous new Democratic voters and has also generated extra coverage of the Democratic candidates. The additional media focus on the candidates keeps the excitement for them rising and their names in the common viewer’s household.

Although some negative feedback surfaced after the Texas primaries, it is important to realize the excitement in knowing there is feedback at all on the little-known Texas primary system. The people involved in the process are staying involved and expanding the Democratic base of supporters ahead of the upcoming general election.
