The Thin Purple Line

The Chron has a story this morning on the political battle lines being drawn in Harris County for the '08 cycle. They spot Democrats as ahead of Republicans in fundraising and campaign resources, and note some of the more active organizations in the area working to keep that lead.

It pretty much goes without saying that Harris County is the place to watch in '08: Democrats are seeing real possibilities for the same wave of blue that carried Dallas in '06 to strike in Houston, while Republicans who were caught off-guard by the sweep are now trying frantically to do what they can to keep that from happening again this year. The fight will be even harder this cycle than last — so remember to contribute however you can to the cause of turning Harris County blue, as well as to those organizations giving Democrats in Houston and the rest of the state their support.
