Bill Tracker: HB 364 - Secret Meetings!

HB 364 would grant the right for municipalities to hold "closed" meetings regarding personnel matters. The county government already has the right to these "closed" meetings.

This exemption would be placed in the event of appointments, evaluations, complaints or charges brought upon members of an advisory board, or in the event of a dismissal of a member,among other. The member involved in any formal inquiry may request a public hearing , if one so desires.

Why desire a public meeting? This way, no one can know your dirty little secrets. There is a reason it is called public office, and it's not so government officials can conduct private meetings about appointments and complaints. I am more than certain tax payers pay for these hearings to take place, and the public has a right to know how these hearings are being run.
