Tuesday Roundup: Bush Sneaks Into Iraq
Tue, 09/04/2007 - 7:00am
That George sure is a sneaky one! GW made the headlines by appearing at an Iraqi air base yesterday. More notable, though, was the statement he made there: that we may see fewer American forces in Iraq.
Thursday Roundup: Sen. Craig Can't Get Out Of The Headlines

Texas Blue Mailbag: Week of 08/19/2007
Fri, 08/24/2007 - 2:13pm
Boy, we were worried for a while there that this week's Mailbag would be all serious. Fortunately for us, someone decided to ask a Ron Paul question.
Thursday Roundup: War of the Words
Thu, 08/23/2007 - 8:30am
I think President Bush has been listening to those crazy left-wing bloggers too much. He seems to have liked the many comparisons between Iraq and Vietnam so much, he's started using them himself. Of course, he's taking them in a different direction — one that many would argue isn't quite historically accurate.
Tuesday Roundup: Tough Talk from the Senate
Tue, 08/21/2007 - 8:00am
Well, another subpoena deadline for the White House has come and gone, and Presidential counsel Fred Fielding has requested another extension to the deadline. 8:40 A debate on Sunday morning? If there was any question that the election cycle's in full swing, this should get rid of doubt. The eight Democratic candidates for President will be appearing this morning on a special edition of ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos in preparation for the Iowa Caucus. You can also catch this debate after 3pm on ABC's web site, or at 7:30pm when it gets rebroadcast on C-SPAN.
Texas Blue Mailbag: Week of 08/12/207

We've got some clarifications and some advice from our readers in this week's Texas Blue Mailbag.
Thursday Roundup: Violence Recurs
Thu, 08/16/2007 - 7:41am
You'd think that after a few years in Iraq, even Republican legislators would know to be hesitant about making a short-term lull in violence out to be some sort of victory. Sadly, we have a reminder of that lesson today. A Yadizi community in the Kurdish area of Iraq fell victim to a quadruple bombing that left at least 500 people dead, and another 320 wounded.
Tuesday Roundup: Stuff Is Expensive
Tue, 08/14/2007 - 9:07am
It seems that just about everyone's running some piece on their hindsight insight about Rove's resignation, but hey — I have
editorial privilege, and I want to lead off with this: I guess that overextended wars we never should have been in can temporarily take the news eye away from petty, non-democracy-saving things like the economy, but eventually they'll come back to bite you.
Thursday Roundup: Dems Unite - Well, Not Really
Thu, 08/09/2007 - 7:00am
Boy, I'd love for this to not be the lead story: The Hill covered a story that you can also find in just about every other major media outlet, discussing how Democrats are split on what to do about Iraq.
