Field Report #1: YDA Convention

We had some technical difficulties. We made some friends. We even had an Emil Reichstadt sighting.

We're on our way to check out some new media / tech tools training from Wired For Change and DEMopolis, YDA's web system for volunteer wrangling, email blasts, and community management. I hope to have an impromptu interview with some of their senior staff so we can talk about how campaigns (and, ostensibly, young people) are using the internet to Protect Democracy. Then I hope to attend another training on the very important topic of Lunch.

The layout is pretty nice and the media room is quite well appointed, even if they are piping the smooth jazz in a little too enthusiastically. We'll have more later.
