Huckabee Finding the Middle Ground

Republicans have counted on the religious right and fiscal conservatives to win the nominations of elections for many years. Huckabee has found enemies among the latter during his race for the presidency.
Being known as a big spender during his governorship in Arkansas has hurt his appearance with fiscally conservative voters. He has also offended socially progressive voters because he is pro-gun, anti-abortion and open to children learning about creationism as a form of evolution.
Huckabee states, however, that he represents the people in the middle of these issues and is finding a surprising amount of support, despite his less-than-impressive fundraising abilities.
Huckabee also claims he’s beaten the Clinton machine before, so he is the man for the job, since Clinton has been the Democratic front-runner for the majority of the time. Huckabee has gained ground in Iowa, despite his small budget. Who knows: he could be on the rise with his new “Chuck Norris Approved” campaign messages.
