I Endorse This Post

There's an interesting story at Huffington Post today concerning endorsements and what they mean. Essentially, Sam Stein makes the argument that endorsements are good for press but they don't really bring out the voters.
And Stein is right. Sure, we saw several news stories when Oprah put on a fundraiser for Barack Obama. We've heard about all of the endorsements Watts and Noriega have lined up. But what does it mean when you're the one doing the endorsing?
If you've ever wondered if people endorse other candidates because they are friends or primarily to help themselves politically, Stein breaks down the calculus in a little Friday light reading. Light reading, that is, if this is the kind of stuff you wonder about in your free time.
