Phillip's Political Christmas
Wed, 12/26/2007 - 8:00am
I want an issue to take precedence over posturing. Public officials should own the issue — the issues shouldn't own them.
I want politicians and consultants to understand that words can be used to fight fires and build bridges. A message can be disciplined and inspiring at the same time.
I want Democrats to donate a lot of money to TexBlog PAC, because there's a significantly capable group of individuals who are dying to bring campaigns into the 21st century. Why just look into the future when you can live in it?
I want Republicans to tell Speaker Cracker Barrel to take a flying leap into the nearest oil well. And I want it to hurt when he hits the bottom.
I want people to take longer, better vacations. We need to all remember what it is we're fighting for.
I want more people to cut their egos in half. It'll be the only way they can make them fit through the window they throw them out of when they decided to really dig in and start winning elections.
I want dramatic, immediate changes to end global warming. It's going to take guts, not guilt, to really turn things around.
I want to eat red enchiladas at El Sol y La Luna again. Mmmmm.
I want for everyone to realize that dreams never die, and that hope is a good thing. That's the spirit of the holiday season, and it's the only spirit big enough to fulfill our promises to each other.
Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy the links above, and I'll see you in the new year.
