Reruns Are In Your Future

We all love the Daily Show, and Colbert, and maybe some of you still watch The Tonight Show. If you were looking forward to new episodes of those nightly bits of entertainment, you can forget it for the near future: the writer's strike is on.
Eventually films and your favorite tv shows will be affected by the strike due to lack of new material, but starting on Monday the nighttime comedy shows will go into reruns. It is possible that federal mediation on Sunday might avert the strike altogether, but that doesn't seem terribly likely, given the studio's reticence to this point.
For you history buffs out there, the last strike was in 1988, and lasted 22 weeks. The losses to the entertainment industry were around $500 million.
