Stevens Conviction Puts Us One Step Closer to 60
Tue, 10/28/2008 - 1:44pm
Ted Stevens' conviction on all charges has the salutary effect of putting us one seat closer to filibuster-proof control of the Senate.
We are now projected to retain all 51 of our current seats (including Independent Bernie Sanders and CFL member Lieberman), and pick up the following:
- Virginia
- New Hampshire
- North Carolina
- New Mexico
- Minnesota
- Colorado
- Alaska
- Oregon
This gives us a floor of 59 seats. Crossing the line to 60 would require that we win both Georgia and Kentucky.
