Bush Notices Something Is Awry

President Bush says '...our economy has slowed.' I'm glad we have him around to keep us updated on the situation. Otherwise we might have missed it.

Senator McGrump

Here's the clip of the exchange McCain had with the New York Times reporter:

More Democrats

It shouldn't come as any surprise after the massive primary turnout we've been seeing, but a new AP poll shows that more people are identifying as Democrats these days while Republican rations remain stagnant. That could explain some of the unexpected possible Democratic victories in yesterday's SUSA poll.

John McCain is Grumpy

John McCain is apparently tired of hearing about that meeting with John Kerry when they discussed McCain possibly running with him in 2004, and laced into a New York Times reporter for asking him about it. Why would a reporter ever want to ask the Republican nominee for president about a little thing like that?

EB. Okay. Can I ask you about your (pause) Why you’re so angry?

McCain: Pardon me?

EB: Nevermind, nevermind.

Yes. Never mind, Senator Grumpy.

Texas Caucus Projections

TPM Election Central's Eric Kleefeld projects that the final caucus delegate results will shake out Obama 37, Clinton 30, with a little help from TDP Spokesperson Hector Nieto.

SUSA Results For Map-Lovers

The differences in who wins which states are interesting enough to merit their own commentary, but here's the SUSA maps while I'm hammering that out.

Interesting News from SurveyUSA

SurveyUSA conducted a very large poll, running surveys of what-if scenarios in all 50 states in regards to the general election. It is fun enough to know, as of right now, both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama win the general election against John McCain.

A Plain Stratification

Put the following two items side by side and consider who has benefited from all these years of Republican leadership. Item 1) The Labor Department reports that 63,000 jobs were cut through February, which amounts to the biggest drop in five years. Item 2) Three mortgage company CEOs (Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, and Countrywide) made $460 million in 2007.

7 Inches of Snow in 4 Hours

When they issue a winter storm warning these days, they mean it.

Obama's February Haul: $55 Million

The number is impressive, but consider that he's raised $193 million in total. That means he raised almost half his money in January and February of this year alone.
