Clinton Takes Rhode Island

The AP is reporting that Senator Hillary Clinton has won the Rhode Island primary.

From the Caucus: Insane Turnout

Our actual precinct caucus just began. There's still hundreds of people here.

Huckabee Set to Concede

Various news outlets are reporting that Huckabee will get out tonight. We knew that would happen but McCain might make the nut for the nomination tonight, and then there's really no point in Huckabee hanging on.

Chuck Todd and the Hilarious Ohio Math

If history tells us anything, Ohio's results will be difficult to come by tonight at any reasonable hour. However, Chuck Todd is now saying that there is a real possibility in a close result in Ohio that Clinton could win the popular vote and end up losing delegates by 1. It is times like these that I wonder if this system has lasted so long because things are usually finished far before we get into the curious, later states and their curious systems.

Will Tomorrow Be More Interesting Than Tonight?

The Obama campaign is telling us to look at the math and the Clinton campaign is throwing perception through a number of prisms, not the least of which is the kitchen sink you've heard so much about, including Rezko, NAFTA, and the 3 AM ad, along with the argument that big states are an important indicator. If the campaign continues, can Obama withstand 7 weeks of the kitchen sink between now and Pennsylvania?

MSNBC Calls Vermont for Obama, McCain

Fast, as usual, on the small states. Olbermann says they have a call for these candidates but not a number. More as we get it.

MSNBC Reports That Richardson Will Endorse Obama

Andrea Mitchell just said that New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson is about to endorse Obama. Richardson, remember, was Energy Secretary in Bill Clinton's administration. A link when we get it if that actually materializes.

Define "Win"

The Clinton camp has sort of painted itself into a corner a bit by implying that they have to win in both Texas and Ohio to keep the train rolling. I think it is fairly possible for Clinton to lose on delegates and win the popular vote in Texas and if that happens, you can bet Terry McAuliffe and the rest of Team Clinton will be saying shouting that they won both states, and never mind the delegates. Either way, it is going be a long night.

Turnout in Dallas Brisk

The Dallas Morning News reports that turnout in Dallas is clipping along, with the elections administrator there echoing the sentiment that early vote could be 50% of the final total vote.
