While we were chasing campaigns across Texas yesterday, the news broke that Congressman Rick Renzi (R-AZ) was indicted for a host of alleged shadiness, including bad land deals and embezzlement-as-campaign-finance. TPM Muckraker has the ever-thickening details here, from Paul Kiel.

Clinton's Fort Worth event was canceled, and is being rescheduled. A police officer in Clinton's motorcade had an accident and passed away as Clinton traveled from Dallas to Fort Worth. More details as we get them.

But when you are the anti-Washington Maverick / Moral Majority / Conservative candidate, and said scandal is allegedly with a lobbyist? That is not good in a very special kind of way. The New York Times has the story, which every other outlet on the face of the earth is rightly calling a "bombshell."
