Illegal Immigration is not Game Management

Many conservative politicians, pundits, and demagogues claim the answer to illegal immigration is to build a fence, wall, moat, or whatever it takes to keep the Mexicans out. The problem with this theory is that fences work well for keeping animals in or out, but don't work so well for people. People have a keen sense for learning how to overcome such minor obstacles as fences and walls. They climb over, dig under, cut through, fly over, or avoid them altogether and just drive through the border crossing.
The Abilene Reporter News recently reported about one such incident. Apparently a Texas State Trooper pulled over a truck driver transporting nine undocumented immigrants headed for Dallas. A newly-built $49 billion-plus fence would not have helped much in this case. Proponents of the fence strategy fail to realize that border crossers are not wild game or domesticated animals. The $49 billion dollar fence may keep the deer in, but it won’t keep the people out.

I agree that illegal immigration is not game management. It's more important. A fence will not solve our problems of illegal immigration. A fence can be effective in many areas. I support having a double layer fence near all urban ares.
This country must have secure borders and ports. We must manage our immigration programs. To do this we must stop illegal immigration. Illegals chose to ignore the legal immigration system and don;t deserve a pathway to citizenship.
We must continue to welcome and support immigrants that obey our laws and use the legal immigration system. They deserve our respect.
People that steal across the border are forced to steal someone's identity or use false documents to secure employment. The are not invited here.
Call your elected representatives and ask them to support th SAVE Act. It forces all employers to verify all social security numbers. Doing this is more effective than building a fence. It turns off the job magnet that attracts so many illegal immigrants. In the Hosue, 110 Congressmen have already decided to co-sponsor this bill.
Call today. Thanks.
