Susan Larsen

Susan Larsen is currently a lawyer in private practice in Austin, where she specializes in criminal and civil appeals. She was born in Bakersfield, California, was raised in Los Angeles County, and received her undergraduate degree from California State University, Fullerton. She attended law school at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
From 1983 until 2005, Susan lived in El Paso, Texas. She worked as an attorney with El Paso Legal Assistance Society, for the Law Offices of Malcolm MdGregor, and as a solo attorney specializing in appeals. In 1992, she was appointed to the Eighth Court of Appeals by Governor Ann Richards, and was the first women to serve on that court. She won two elections to that seat and left the bench in January 2005. Since that time she has worked as a visiting judge, as a prosecutor in New Mexico and recently returned to the private practice of law.
