American Public to Bush: Come Back to Reality and Leave Iraq

President Bush is demanding Congress “come off their vacation” to get their Iraq spending bill to his desk so he can veto it. Yet, has the President ever come off his vacation since invading Iraq four years ago? As disastrously as Bush’s Iraq war has devolved, the evidence inevitably points to no.

The President’s reaction to Democratic efforts to force an exit from Iraq is nothing short of petulant. He is acting as if he has been interrupted in the middle of a brush cutting session while on vacation at the ranch. The fact that he made these remarks and then immediately went on vacation should tell you something about how, in general and historically, he operates.
