Bill White Appoints Task Force to Overhaul Electricity Grid

The Chronicle is reporting that Houston Mayor Bill White has commissioned a task force to overhaul the long-suffering electricity grid in Houston.

White's concerns include maintaining power across a gigantic metropolitan area during normal and crisis situations, but also empowering Houstonians to have more information about their usage. A former Clinton appointee and head of the Texas Democratic Party, White is currently serving in a non-partisan capacity as Mayor of Houston. While this fits in with his campaign themes of competence and good government that can serve everyone, it could also serve to expand those themes and provide a defining example if he runs for Governor.
