Cheney Implicated in Climate-Change Coverup

Former EPA official Jason Burnett accused Dick Cheney's office of attempting to supress important findings on climate change. Burnett said that the vice president's office sought to remove information on the health effects of climate change from congressional testimony by the head of the CDC.

The White House claimed that it wanted the information cut because of disputes over scientific accuracy. Burnett contends that they were more worried about not being able to dodge greenhouse gas regulation.

Burnett served as associate deputy administrator before stepping down last month. He cited the Bush Administration's refusal to acknowledge the EPA's findings as the reason for his resignation.
