Today, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) will file a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) about the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), alleging illegal coordinated campaign activities.

The complaint alleges the NRCC and the conservative non-profit group Freedoms Watch, which promotes mainstream conservative values, collaborated on a script for a commercial purchased by Freedoms Watch for a must-win seat in Louisiana. Federal law prohibits the organizations from collaborating.

The commercial attacks the Democratic nominee, Rep. Donald J. Cazayoux, of being in favor of increasing taxes, which is a totally fresh tactic by the GOP.
