DOJgate & gwb43.comgate Coming to a Head

The Bush administration may have violated the 1978 Presidential Records Act requiring the White House keep records of discussions and policy deliberations. Since 2001 approximately 50 White House officials are reported to have had shadow off-book RNC e-mail accounts. The RNC claims they cannot recover e-mail records for 15 of these 50 officials.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont) says the RNC claim that many emails were erased and are now unavailable is nonsense. Leahy is demanding all e-mails relevant to the DOJ firings be produced or they will be subpoenaed. The story is festering and getting progressively worse by the day for the Bush administration. We may have the makings of something big as pressure and information mounts by the day. Brace yourselves.
