Early Voting Update

To update George's article about early voting numbers in Texas, I've taken the county totals for Harris, Dallas, Tarrant, Bexar, Travis and Denton (since it's the home of The Blue) through the first three days of early primary voting in 2008 versus the first three days of early primary voting in 2004 (all data from the Secretary of State's website):

DEMOCRATS

County Name :: 2004 early voting/first three days :: 2008 early voting/first three days

Harris :: 3,378 :: 28,464
Dallas :: 2,590 :: 24,862
Tarrant :: 2,300 :: 18,212
Bexar :: 3,562 :: 21,580
Travis :: 3,743 :: 19,091
Denton :: 417 :: 5,142

I know that this is only for the first three days of early voting and that we're discussing a competitive Presidential primary in this cycle versus a Presidential primary that was settled by the time we voted in Texas in 2004, but even with considering the differences, these numbers are simply amazing.

All that I can say is that this is the most exciting time in my life as a Texas Democrat. Any chance we can maybe stretch this out another week?
