Hardcore Conservatives Still Fear McCain

Fearful that John McCain will attempt to insert some sanity into the Republican party line on issues like global warming, immigration, and stem cell research, right-wing activists are getting ready for a fight at the convention.

The GOP's new standard-bearer hasn't said what changes he may make, but his reputation for going against some Republican policies has been a sticking point throughout his candidacy. Though he's made many attempts to reach out, this conservative trepidation seems to indicate that McCain hasn't quite won the party over yet.
