John McCain, newly minted presumptive Republican nominee for President, decides that maybe he isn't really opposed to torture after all and votes against banning it.
What you are seeing here and will see more of in the coming months is the GOP's attempt to make this election about the same old banal issues — fear, xenophobia, divisiveness and bravado — that they have run on in the past, even in the face of new and very real challenges, like the economy, health care, and a disastrous run of foreign policy.
