New Feature: On The Record

We want to take a moment to tell you about a new feature we've introduced today called On The Record.

On The Record is a series of short biographical sketches of Democratic leaders from around the state. We will discuss the origins of their political involvement, their grassroots and community activities, and what sorts of progressive activities are underway where they come from.

The resultant pieces will be written by Texas Blue staffers Research Director Lauren Molidor and Editorial Intern Grace Stevens. Both are locally based in Denton: Lauren is a political science major at the University of North Texas and the current president of the Denton County Young Democrats. Grace is a veteran of several campaigns, both local and large scale, and a journalism major at the University of North Texas. They already contribute a great deal to the day-to-day operations of The Texas Blue, and we hope this additional undertaking is informative for you, our readers.

The current On The Record from Lauren features James Belk, current Hale County Democratic Party chair and past contributor to this site. We hope you enjoy it. Later this week, Grace will be bringing you a piece on John Courage.
