NY Governor Spitzer Tied To Prostitution Ring

Fox News is reporting that New York Governor Eliot Spitzer will resign this evening after a report showed ties between Spitzer and a prostitution ring. Spitzer made no mention of resigning during a statement to the press earlier today. More as it comes.

CORRECTION: The Fox News story stated that Spitzer had been indicted, which we included in this story. That was incorrect. Spitzer has not been indicted on any charges. Talks of his resignation are still underway.

EDIT: Unsurprisingly, Fox News was incorrect in their assertion again. Spitzer did not resign Monday evening. The Wall Street Journal now has it that "he will resign as early as" Tuesday. The AP wire, Bloomberg, and all other reports that could be tracked down at this hour refrain from speculating. -gn ed.
