On The Record: Bob Coker

For this episode of On The Record, we speak with Bob Coker, County Chair of the Hall County Democratic Party.

What would you say are the primary issues concerning?

Hall County is small, and most people are farmers. My main issue is the war, because I feel we should get out completely. Most people here feel the same.

Health care is another issue of concern here. There should be universal health care for the whole country.

Do you have any ambition for higher office? Do you have plans to run for any other party office, or possibly even public office?

No, I believe I am too old now. I am still farming.

Who are some of your political heroes?

My political heroes are leaders from way back. FDR was for the people, not a certain group of people. Harry Truman and Bill Clinton are also great political figures.

Clinton did the best of any president we’ve had in years.

What are you looking forward to in the coming cycle?

I look forward to a president to get us out of the war and lead us to universal health care.

What advice would you give to young people just getting into politics?

My advice to people beginning in politics is to read both sides of the political issues, not just one side.
