Texas Blue Mailbag: Week of 6/17/07

This week's Mailbag adds to the veterans' issues love, touches on our plans for the future, and throws a couple of yuks in there as well.

I thought your article on the US Veterans was very well written. I could tell you had done your research. I was employed at a Community Health Care Clinic in Iowa for six years, and for two of those years I was an Outreach Worker who traveled with a medical team to provide healthcare for the homeless. We referred many patients to a VA Hospital in Iowa City for treatment, scheduling their appointments and providing them with bus transportation. Our military deserve continuing follow-up care regardless of when, or in what capacity they have served. Keep up the good work!

Josh replies:

SR, I agree with you. Thanks for the compliment; we're proud of the work we have done so far in the series, and we're fortunate that several experts have helped us out with feature articles. The response has been good, and we'll keep it coming. Allow me to recommend this week's Who's Blue with Congressman Chet Edwards.

MU writes:

Are you guys going to interview any more presidential candidates?

George answers:

We sure are! You must be referring to our interview with Dennis Kucinich. We indeed have some more big names lined up that will definitely please presidential perusers and pundits alike. This month's Who's Blues and articles are dedicated strictly to veterans' issues, but we will be back to general topics after July 4, at which point you will be seeing much more on the presidential race.

You forgot Roweena, Sarina, Sabrina, Katrina. lol

Josh says:

I am sorry for my transgressions and would like to stop receiving emails about what rhymes with subpoena. Please. Please. Thanks.

(And George says: I still think using peoples' names is cheating. Though geographic names should count, especially if they're five syllables. Herzegovina!)
