"That One"

Obama spokesman Bill Burton was quick to send out an email tonight pointing out a very unusual comment on McCain's part. When referring to a vote on an energy bill in the Senate, McCain said, "you know who voted for it?... That one."

Not "Senator Obama," like they would have agreed to ahead of time. Not "Barack." Not even "him." "That one."

It could, of course, be a simple slip. I imagine that will be the tack the campaign takes -- because, after all, what else would they say?

But from a man who became notorious in the 2000 Republican primary for being insulting towards the Vietnamese, and before that for being insulting to women, I would imagine that not a few people will be wondering if McCain's just a bit too much of a loose cannon when it comes to what he says in public. Puts some more weight behind Obama's debunking of McCain's "experienced leadership" when he noted that his supposed "steady hand" was responsible for the "Bomb, Bomb Iran" chanting and the comment about "annihilating" North Korea.
