The Story of Romney

I'm not sure I see a way for Romney to continue much longer. Huckabee split some of the vote by winning across the South, and the Romney camp was hanging it all on California to equalize and bring the race back to some sort of balance.

Missouri Very, Very Close for Dems

Less than 3,200 votes separate the candidates in Missouri with 97% reporting: Clinton 49%, Obama 48%. Update: At 98%, Obama and Clinton have swapped, and Obama has about 4,900 votes' worth of a lead.

Obama, Romney Take Colorado

Colorado Republicans have gone for Romney, and Democrats for Obama. Obama also picked up Utah, Romney Minnesota, and Huckabee looks imminent in Tennessee.

California numbers are starting to come in, and Clinton and McCain are looking strong.

TB Calls Idaho For Obama

The networks are hesitating, but our statistics have us calling Idaho for Barack Obama. And MSNBC has just called Arizona for Clinton, and Georgia for Huckabee.

Negative Mittmentum

Mitt Romney is getting hammered, and I'm of the opinion that the state where he is likely to have done well for himself — California — shaped the media coverage today by being dead last, chronologically. Since there won't be good news for Mitt until well after most of the country has gone to sleep, it doesn't do much for him. If California were on the eastern seaboard, maybe the pundits would have been more bullish on Romney throughout the day.

Tennessee Storms Force Polls to Close Early

Major storms crashed through Tennessee today, with tornadoes and storms knocking out power, damaging structures, and forcing polls in four counties to close early due to safety concerns. The Chron is reporting that there were casualties as a result, and the weather has been dangerous in several parts of the country today. Stay safe, everyone.

Alabama's Neck-And-Neck For Republicans

Obama seems to have locked up Alabama, but the Republicans don't have it so easy: CNN had it called for McCain, and ABC for Huckabee, and now both have retracted their predictions as it's looking like it may be a photo finish in the state.

Clinton Takes Home State

Clinton's being called for New York (no surprise) on the Democratic side, and McCain on the Republican side. ABC, this time. EDIT: CNN verifies; also, Clinton's just been called as taking New Jersey as well.

Senator Kennedy's Endorsement Takes One In The Chin

Massachusetts has just been called for Hillary Clinton. EDIT:...and Delaware for Obama. No link yet for this one either. MSNBC made the call.

McCain Pulls Delaware

Delaware has just been called for McCain by NBC. No link yet; one as soon as it's up.
