The Republican presidential primary has been nothing short of watching a rudderless boat race with no wind to fill the sails. All the Republican candidates have been going nowhere fast. Senator McCain just happened to get there first sparking quite a revolt among many conservatives causing the party to devolve into a repository of rancor and self-loathing.

First they wanted Giuliani and didn't get him. Then they thought Mitt might work out but he withdrew. Now Fox News has done away with all pretense and started just saying that John McCain is a Democrat. I wonder if working at Fox News feels like a fake job.

From Greg Sargent: Mitt Romney says that staying in the race would have helped Senator Clinton or Senator Obama win, and by extension would have "...been a part of aiding a surrender to terror." I wonder if he cooked up this equation of a Democratic White House with a surrender to al-Qaeda by himself. What a sad tactic.

I'm guessing many of our readers visit several blogs on a daily basis or read through several blogs' RSS feeds on a daily basis. I count myself in that demographic and one of the stories I've been following for the last few months are the two big ticket (in blogosphere terms) challenges to Democratic House incumbents Dan Lipinski (IL-03) and Al Wynn (MD-4).
