Bill White Announces His Candidacy For Senate

Bill White formally announced yesterday that he will seek Kay Bailey Hutchison's Senate seat.
White's background in energy and transportation issues makes him a formidable candidate, as does his vast network of national and Texas Democrats. As a former Clinton appointee and head of the Texas Democratic Party, he is in a position to not only raise a lot of money, but bring in lots of Democratic superstars to campaign for him. Currently, his only announced Democratic opposition is former Comptroller John Sharp.
