Knowing When To Quit

How do you know when your campaign is mortally wounded? Is it when John McCain raids your home base, or is it when Ron Paul consistently beats you?
It is bad enough to cast your eyes north as Rudy Giuliani and see John McCain raising a cool million in New York and stealing endorsements from the likes of Alfonse D'Amato and Henry Kissinger. That can't make Rudy feel good, even as he is failing to accomplish much in Florida, which he acknowledges he has to win.
But to add insult to injury, the over-moneyed hopeless campaign of Ron Paul has managed to garner more votes in Nevada than Giuliani's by a considerable margin:
With his second place finish in Saturday’s Nevada caucus, where Paul defeated Giuliani in every county in the state, the Texas congressman has now received 106,414 votes to 60,220 for Giuliani. Both candidates have collected zero actual delegates.
If it isn't all over yet, it will be soon.
