Shapiro Explores

Republican State Senator Florence Shapiro of Plano announced that she's going to explore taking over Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison's seat after KBH leaves to do whatever she ends up doing, which is a departure set for 2012 or sooner. (You can count on sooner.)
Shapiro will have stiff competition, largely decided by what the Republican field of candidates ends up looking like, but no matter what she'll have Roger Staubach's support. So there's that.

Good for Shapiro. I've always liked her and thought she was really a politician that had a conscience and looked out for what's best for the people, including the children. Best of luck to her, her family and Collin County.
