The Texas Values in Action Coalition (TexVAC) was founded by a group of North Texas Democrats in 2004 that is dedicated to electing Democratic candidates in North Texas. During this last election in 2006, TexVAC expended almost $200,000 for North Texas candidates’ elections. TexVAC made substantial donations directly to campaigns and was a major contributor to the Dallas County coordinated campaign. As a result, all county-wide seats were retaken by Democrats in Dallas and a total of 48 new North Texas races were won. TexVAC believes that the key to winning is supporting well-funded, well-trained, expertly-staffed candidates running in targeted districts who are carrying compelling messages of hope, opportunity and change.
