Mitt Romney endorsed John McCain yesterday, thus delivered a potential 280 delegates or so. This presents a difficulty for Huckabee, who doesn't even have as many delegates as Romney had to give, but who also swears to continue on undeterred.
The Idea That Wouldn't Die
Thu, 02/14/2008 - 4:04pm
Think conservatives are all ready to line up behind McCain? it certainly seems that way, but not everyone is buying it: the push for a third party conservative candidate lives on.
McCain Picks Up Romney, Potential Delegates
Thu, 02/14/2008 - 2:13pm
The rumor is that Mitt Romney will endorse McCain a little later today and release his delegates, ostensibly to line up behind the senator from Arizona. And in this business, a rumor like that means that it is definitely going to happen.
House Holds Bolten, Miers in Contempt
Thu, 02/14/2008 - 1:57pm
In a move that damages Bush administration attempts to extend and broaden executive privilege, the House voted overwhelmingly to hold former White House counsel Harriet Miers and former White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten in contempt for failure to cooperate in the ongoing US attorney firing scandal. I guess this means that when you get a subpoena from Congress, they really mean it. More as it develops.

News Digest, 2/14/08: Stimulus Plan Signed
Thu, 02/14/2008 - 10:08am
The bipartisan economic stimulus package was signed yesterday by President Bush, clearing the way for checks to come out in May.
The plan is nearly identical to the original plan passed by the House of Representatives. The bill that went to the White House added checks for veterans and the elderly that fell outside of the original earning limits, which Republicans had been pushing for. The food stamp increases and unemployment benefit extensions that Democrats were holding out for didn't pan out, however.
