As Christmas rolls around again children get excited, put on their best behavior and make their Christmas lists. Some of us adults also bring out the old pen and paper and secretly make our own wish lists.

I want an issue to take precedence over posturing. Public officials should own the issue — the issues shouldn't own them.

I want politicians and consultants to understand that words can be used to fight fires and build bridges. A message can be disciplined and inspiring at the same time.

John Edwards wants you to remember the less fortunate this holiday season, and makes his point through a pretty powerful Christmas ad.

Merry Christmas? This is John McCain's Christmas ad, and it is a little heavy. I wonder what the net effect of the happy-nice ads versus the serious ads will be.
